What to See and Do

Colour your life

The changing seasons does nothing to lessen the plentiful ways to enjoy the Borders.

Walking here is excellent at any time of year but particularly rewarding amid such magnificent seasonal hues.  Golfers are spoilt for choice as well as 21 courses on offer, while top-class fishing continues to attract a local and international following.

The quieter months provide the ideal opportunity to try something different at your own speed.  If you've always fancied a rural trek along a bridle path, saddle up with a local horse and guide.  Switch from four wheels to two for a tour under your own horse power on sign-posted routes and quiet country lanes.  Or take to the hills for a mountain bike ride on expertly-designed downhill tracks.  Glentress, near Peebles, is rated as 'the best dedicated mountain bike centre in Britain' by Mountain Bike Rider Magazine.

Opportunities also abound for a variety of activities - archery, falconry, diving, clay pigeon shooting, quad bike riding and canoeing.  All guaranteed to bring a rosy glow to your cheeks and a smile to your face.
